Dr. Julie Lyn Barber

Dr. Barber has been teaching voice since 1996 and is well-versed in all styles of singing, and several dialects for the actor. She holds a Doctor of Arts in Voice and a Master of Music degree in Opera/Music Theatre. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and is certified in Somatic Voicework (Levels 1, 2, 3). She regularly teaches voice and acting to BFA Musical Theatre students at Western Kentucky University where she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre & Dance. She has also been a professional actor, director and music director for over 25 years.

Lessons & Coachings

Opt for a 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute lesson or coaching on a weekly, bi-weekly, or as-needed basis. Students include singers, actors, and professional speakers, working on singing technique, preparing for auditions and callbacks, and working on vocal dialects and gender affirming speech practice.
