Dr. Julie Lyn Barber

Lessons & Coachings

Dr. Barber has been a professional actor since 1991 and has been teaching voice since 1996. She teaches musical theatre and acting at Purdue University Fort Wayne where she is Head of Musical Theatre and Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre. She is well-versed in all styles of singing, and several dialects for the actor, holds a Doctor of Arts in Voice and a Master of Music degree in Opera/Music Theatre. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and is certified in Somatic Voicework (Levels 1, 2, 3). She has also been a professional actor, director and music director for over 25 years.

Opt for a 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute lesson or coaching on a weekly, bi-weekly, or as-needed basis. Rate is $50/hr. Students include singers, actors, and professional speakers, working on singing & acting  technique, preparing for auditions and callbacks, and working on vocal dialects and gender affirming speech practice.
